Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G Lens Review

Hey guys! Here’s another review you might want to check out if your an avid photography enthusiast or if your wishing to become a professional news/sports photographer, or possibly even venturing yourself in doing youth sports photography business, some tips here to help you out about the new Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 lens.

The Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 lens is simply amazing, it definitely opens up a whole new world of shooting opportunities for anyone who owns this lens. It works awesome on very poor lighting situations, works best on events such as weddings and stuffs, great for nature shots, anything!

I could actually go on and on saying this lens is pretty amazing on just about everything but I’ll elaborate more on my usage of this lens as a professional sports team photographer.

Well, this is actually the main lens that you would use on action shots especially when you are indoors shooting hockey, volleyball and yes, basketball, and similar sports like that, – your gonna need this lens because of the f/2.8 aperture that is has on it and when you are outdoors shooting baseball, soccer, or football etc., you definitely need the zoom factor of at least 200 to be able to zoom from where you are across the 1st base to 3rd base and to 2nd base. Now, shots like these can usually get you out a little bit but if your camera has a decent mega pixel with it like 12mega pixels, man, it does the job job pretty decently and you get a really good quality pixel/shots in the outfield.

Yes, I know you’ve probably seen this lens online and reviews are actually overwhelming. Even canon users say that this is a must have for anyone who’s serious on doing photography.

But, one thing though, this lens has pretty nice tag on it, a whopping $2,099 brand new!

However, if you don’t have the funds just yet to purchase this brand new lens, I would definitely suggest that you try and find out the older models of this lens like the 80-200mm ‘push and pull’ method that you can get on local photo shops nearby or online on eBay. (this actually is my first lens, and I bought it for like $800 only from another professional photographer who plans to add up some money to purchase the new Nikon 70-200mm 2.8). You can also check out or visit, www.adorama.com or any other websites that you find which sells used equipments.

Ideally, everyone wants to buy a brand new lenses (who doesn’t), But, here’s a note guys, Lenses don’t tend to lose their value that fast compared to cameras, – so, if you buy this for $2,100 it’s probably gonna loose you around 300 to 400 in the first year at the most as long as you take good care of it..(or until a new model shows up..)

Alright guys, hope this has been useful, that’s all for now and if you wanna learn more or get some tips on becoming a professional sports team photographer or run a photography business, just click on the link below.
